Canada: High-risk offender in Yarmouth County banished from Canada for 2 years

A provincial court judge in Shelburne, N.S., has banished a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen from the country for two years, in what he described as an “extremely extraordinary” sentencing.

Allen ____, 64, was charged with two counts of criminal harassment last month after he was accused of stalking a 25-year-old woman in Yarmouth on two occasions, in October and December respectively.

The RCMP also issued a public notification in December describing ____ as a high-risk offender.

More than two decades ago, he was convicted of sexual offences in the United States that included kidnapping, aggravated rape, rape, assault with intent to rape, and assault and battery, according to a police news release at the time.

He completed a 23-year sentence in the U.S. for the crimes, which were committed in Massachusetts.

man who is a registrant with dual citizenship is banned from Canada for two years even tho it is currently where he is living.

“Banished”. Wow, interesting. 🤔

The way this is going, we are going to get our own island soon!!!

“Desrosiers told the judge if he was allowed to return to the U.S., he wouldn’t come back to Canada”

Why? If you stay in the US, you’re going to be on the sex offender registry for life, dude. Even Massachusetts ain’t that liberal. They’re going to put you on lifetime registration for all the raping and mayhem you did in their state. I would head my but back to Canada. In fact, I would stay and fight that two year ban from the country over stalking? It’s not like you committed treason or a terrorist act. You’re a Canadian citizen. Some provincial judge can’t deny you that right.

So medieval. Oh well that’s old fashioned Canada for ya. Guess they’re not as genteel and modern as they make themselves out to be.

If he’s such a high risk, why isn’t he in prison instead of walking around free?
